For Life Abundant (8) Two Means (Galatians 5:16-25) 2026-06-30보기
For Life Abundant (8) Two Means Galatians 5:16–25 Although the believers in the Galatian church had become Christians, they had lost the abundance of life found in the gospel. Apostle Paul teaches them the gospel once again. The chart below explains the gospel in three areas: salvation, status, and sanctification. Each area presents two possible paths, and the path we choose determines whether we experience the abundant life Christ offers. Chapters 1–2: Salvation Chapters 3–4: Status Chapters 5–6: Sanctification Sanctification refers to the transformation of those who have been saved. One of the main reasons we lose the abundant life is that we ourselves do not change. Therefore, our sanctification—our ongoing transformation—is the key to experiencing spiritual abundance. There are two means to sanctification: the way of the flesh and the way of the Spirit. The way of the flesh follows our sinful nature. If we continue to live according to it, true transformation is impossible. However, Christians who have been declared righteous and adopted as God's children have the Holy Spirit living within them. As we live according to the Holy Spirit's guidance, we experience true freedom and genuine transformation. When we intentionally choose to live by the Spirit (v.16), the Holy Spirit enables us to do what we could never accomplish by our own strength (v.18). As we live according to this principle, evidence of spiritual transformation begins to appear. By examining these signs, we can recognize which path we are following. First, the signs of our desires. When sinful desires arise, there are also the desires from the Holy Spirit (v.17). If we recognize that these desires come from the Holy Spirit, choose to obey them, act upon them, and experience the goodness, we will gradually change and become free. Because we have spent many years following the desires of the flesh, we must continually practice and discipline ourselves to respond to the Holy Spirit instead. Second, the signs of our fruit. We should examine whether our lives are producing the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control—or the acts of the flesh, such as sexual immorality, impurity, debauchery, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions, and heresies (vv.19–20). We must reject the corrupt fruit of the flesh and continually choose the way that produces the fruit of the Spirit. Third, we must discipline our mind. Since the Holy Spirit lives within us, we should set our minds on the things of the Spirit (Romans 8:1–6). Living by the Spirit means carefully discerning whether our thoughts come from the Holy Spirit or from ourselves. We must bring the spirit of God into our minds and discipline for a Spirit-led mind. As we examine the evidence revealed through our lives, recognize it, make adjustments where necessary, and intentionally choose to follow the Holy Spirit, the Spirit Himself will accomplish His work within us. The evidence seen in my life points the way to a life of abundance. Discussion & Application 1. Draw your own arrow on the chart below. Where did you begin, and which way are you following at this time? Salvation Status Sanctification Faith in Jesus Christ Child Spirit The Works of the Law Slave Flesh Two Beginnings Two Identities Two Means 2. Examine the signs that are being revealed through your life. Discern whether these signs are produced by the Holy Spirit or by your flesh. If they are not from the Spirit, make the necessary adjustments and choose once again to follow the Holy Spirit. During the summer break, intentionally practice living by the Spirit. It is our prayer that you will grow in spiritual abundance, and that we will meet again in September having experienced God's transforming work in our lives.
For Life Abundant (7) Two Identities (Galatians 4:4-7) 2026-06-23보기
For Life Abundant (7) Two Identities Galatians 4:4-7 In Galatians, Paul calls believers to look to the gospel in order to recover the fullness of their faith. He distinguishes between salvation and status (identity) as follows: Faith in Christ → Son: When we begin with faith, we enjoy the identity of being God's children. Works of the Law → Slave: When we become bound to the works of the Law, we fall back into the identity of a slave. These two beginnings produce two different identities. Only when we fully embrace our status as sons and daughters in the gospel can we regain the true richness of faith. In Galatians 3:6-9, Paul asks the Gentile believers, “How did you become Christians?” At that time, false Jewish teachers claimed that in order to become descendants of Abraham and receive salvation, people had to keep the Old Testament Law, be circumcised, and observe religious festivals. Paul refutes this by reminding them that the criterion for becoming Abraham’s spiritual descendants is not ethnic lineage or works of the Law, but faith alone. The gospel offers true freedom: a way to become Abraham’s spiritual children through faith, without being bound by Jewish ancestry. In other words, our true identity is grounded not in human effort or legal observance, but in the freedom that comes through faith. In Roman society, the status of a slave was a lifelong condition, and there was an unbridgeable social divide between master and slave. Yet in Galatians 3:26-29, Paul declares that in the gospel, both masters and slaves have become one in Christ and therefore stand as equals. The customs and social structures defined by the world no longer have any power within the church, because we are all equal brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus. Ultimately, for both the Galatian believers and for us today, freedom means being released from the condemnation and conditions of the Law and becoming Abraham’s descendants through faith. It is also the freedom that breaks down worldly distinctions and discrimination, making us one in Christ. This is why Galatians 5:1 proclaims, “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free.” Galatians 4:6-7 further declares that in Christ we have received the status of children who can call God “Abba, Father.” Therefore, Paul urges us never again to take up the yoke of slavery, but to call upon our Father and fully enjoy the freedom He has given us. We encourage you to apply the grace of this precious message in your daily life this week in the following ways. [Applying This Week’s Message] Choose a different path from the one you usually take. Instead of following your familiar routines, try taking a small detour. Set aside your usual methods and habits for a moment, and try one simple activity that costs little or nothing and can easily be incorporated into your daily life. By stepping slightly outside the well-worn track of your busy routine, allow yourself to break free from patterns you may have followed without even realizing it. This week, may you deeply experience in your daily life the true freedom of the Holy Spirit, who removes the yoke of rules and conditions and fills our lives with His abundant grace.
두 가지 시작(Two beginnings)이 다른 두 가지 정체성(Two identities)을 만듭니다.
For Life Abundant (6) Two Beginnings (Galatians 2:15-21) 2026-06-16보기
For Life Abundant (6) Two Beginnings Galatians 2:15–21 The church in Galatia once experienced the abundance of the gospel but eventually lost it. Why did they lose the abundance of their spiritual life? Through the example of the Galatian church, we can learn what we must face in order to enjoy the abundant life that Jesus promised. According to the righteous character of our holy and perfect Creator God, there will be a final judgment against sin at the end of history. To escape this judgment, we must meet God's standard of righteousness. If a person seeks to be justified through obedience to the Law, they must keep the Law perfectly. However, fallen humanity cannot perfectly keep God's holy and perfect standards. Therefore, no one can be justified by their own works. Because God loves humanity, He sent Jesus Christ to save us from the power of sin and death and to restore all creation that had been corrupted by sin. Christ accomplished righteousness through His perfect obedience and paid the penalty for our sins by giving His life on the cross. Through Him, the way was opened for us to be justified and saved. Therefore, the way to be justified before God is not through works of the Law but through faith in Jesus Christ alone (Galatians 2:16). The believers in the Galatian church began their Christian lives through faith in Christ but later returned to a works-centred faith. As a result, they drifted away from the gospel and lost the abundance they once enjoyed, experiencing spiritual dryness instead. Works-based religion can produce visible results and achievements, making it appear as though one's faith is growing. This can lead people to have feeling of relief and mistakenly believe they are doing well spiritually. However, it often creates spiritual medals and rankings, resulting in pride toward oneself and judgment toward others. In the end, grace becomes obscured. Rather than relying completely on Jesus, people begin to rely on their own righteousness and lose the abundance found in the gospel. To believe in Jesus Christ is responding to His invitation confessing that He alone is the only way to be made righteous before God and that He is the only One to rely on. Through this faith, we are united with Christ and enter a loving relationship with God. To die to the Law means that our desire and determination to earn righteousness through our own efforts completely dies before God. In this complete union with Christ, His death becomes our death, and His resurrection life becomes our life. Therefore, we enjoy the abundant fruit given through Christ's victory—not through our own works, but through faith (Galatians 2:20). The reason churches sometimes drift toward a works-centred way is that the life of faith is an invisible spiritual life. Christian maturity and spirituality do not come from outward actions but from the depth of our intimacy with Christ. Through our union with Him, we are transformed to become more like Him. And the church is a community of people who desire and long for this intimate relationship with Christ and walk together on that journey. Christian life is a faith life. Discussion Questions 1. Am I trying to prove my faith through my actions (such as attending worship services, participating in church programs, or serving in ministry) and through moral standards? Am I truly placing my relationship with God at the centre of my life? 2. Do I judge other people's faith based on their religious words and actions? Are my standards of judgment based on my own righteousness and expectations, or on the heart of the Lord who lives within me? Application 1. May you enjoy the abundance of life by giving thanks for what the Lord has done, hoping in what He will do, and living in response to His love and grace. 2. Whenever you feel inclined to react to someone with a judgmental attitude, respond instead with prayer and meditation on Galatians 2:20. Ask God to help you see others through His eyes and with His heart rather than through your own standards. Remember that you too stand where you are only because of the grace of the cross. May this be a week in which we intercede and pray for one another.
(Christian life is a faith life) 나눔 질문: 1.
For Life Abundant (5) He Sent Them into His Vineyard (Matthew 20:1-16) 2026-06-01보기
May 31, 2026 For Life Abundant (5) "He Sent Them into His Vineyard" Matthew 20:1-16 One of the challenges we must face in order to live an abundant life is the tendency to compare ourselves with others. The Bible contains many examples of problems caused by a spirit of comparison. Cain compared his worship with Abel’s and ended up committing the first murder in human history. The people of Israel compared themselves to the surrounding nations and demanded a king; as a result, they failed to please God and eventually moved toward corruption and destruction. Saul also compared himself to David, became consumed with jealousy, and spent the rest of his life trying to kill him. A comparing heart can arise in anyone. Therefore, the important thing is not whether we experience comparison, but whether we recognize it and how we deal with it. We can see this in the Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard in the Gospel of Matthew. Even though the workers hired early in the morning received the full wage they had been promised, the moment they began comparing themselves to others, they lost their contentment and joy. This is how comparison subtly and cunningly finds its way into our hearts For example, when a friend or colleague whom we once helped becomes highly successful, we may congratulate them outwardly while inwardly feeling a sense of comparison. When someone close to us succeeds, jealousy can creep into our hearts, and when we feel that we have not achieved the same, we may fall into feelings of inferiority. Even when we worship or serve in the church, we can become conscious of others, developing a competitive spirit that leads to either superiority or inferiority. The workers hired early in the morning already had a guaranteed job and wage for the day. Nevertheless, instead of focusing on the grace they had received, they looked at what others had been given and began to complain. Comparison ultimately prevents us from being grateful for the blessings we already have and even robs us of the joy God has given us. How, then, can we overcome this subtle yet powerful spirit of comparison? The problem does not begin with external circumstances or other people; it begins with ourselves. Comparison tends to arise when we become spiritually or personally complacent. Therefore, we need to begin practicing the following disciplines of the heart: First, we need to engage wholeheartedly in the work God has entrusted to us and live with intentionality. When we are diligently pursuing our calling, we simply do not have the time or energy to compare ourselves with others. Second, we must maintain our focus. The moment we lose focus, our eyes begin to wander toward others. But when we are fully fixed on the mission and purpose God has given us, comparison loses its grip on our hearts. Third, we must develop a habit of contentment and gratitude for the life God has entrusted to us. Finally, we should intentionally distance ourselves from environments and relationships that encourage comparison. If there are settings where people constantly compare themselves with others and exchange negative remarks, it is wise to avoid them. Furthermore, we should regularly examine ourselves to ensure that we are not subtly promoting comparison through our conversations with family members or spouses. While we may never be able to completely prevent feelings of comparison from arising, we can, through continual practice and discipline, cut off the negative thoughts before they take root. By focusing on the life entrusted to us and living with gratitude, may we fully embrace the rich and abundant life that God has prepared for each of us as His royal priesthood. 1. Don’t Compare! Discussion Questions: 1. In your daily life or spiritual walk recently, can you recall a specific moment when you unknowingly compared yourself to someone else and felt either inferior or superior? 2. What are some blessings and reasons for gratitude that God has already given you, but that you may have overlooked because you were focused on comparing yourself to others? Share with one another. 3. To take your eyes off others and focus fully on the mission and goals God has given you, what is the most important action step you need to take right now? Application Questions: 1. Start a gratitude journal by writing down three specific things you are thankful for that God has already given you. Let's share them together next time. 2. Immerse yourself in your calling and daily responsibilities: Dedicate time and energy to the tasks God has given you each day, as well as to your personal spiritual disciplines (such as Bible meditation and prayer), leaving little room for comparison. Next time, share how this practice has affected your heart and mindset.

For Life Abundant (4) I Have Finished the Race (2 Timothy 4:1-8) 2026-05-25보기
For Life Abundant (4) I Have Finished the Race 2 Timothy 4:1-8 One of the realities we must face to live an abundant life is death. Modern world often responds to death with denial or despair. Many avoid thinking about it, refuse to accept it even when they know it is inevitable, and eventually become overwhelmed by it. However, the Bible neither denies nor hides death, nor does it surrender before it. In Jesus Christ, sin and death have been overcome because Jesus died on the cross and rose again. When we believe in Jesus, our worldview changes—including our view of death. Second Timothy is a letter written by the Apostle Paul as he faced his own death. Let us examine Apostle Paul’s view of death and connect it to a biblical perspective on life. First, we are all going to depart this world at some point (2 Timothy 4:6). Apostle Paul foresaw his martyrdom and confessed that after pouring out his life completely for the Lord, death would soon come. All of us are pouring our lives into something. The life of a Christian should be one of pouring out everything into God’s kingdom. Second, when death comes, we will all stand under God’s judgment (2 Timothy 4:1). For those who do not believe, there will be judgment concerning heaven and hell. For Christians who are saved, there will be an evaluation of how they lived their lives. We will stand before the Lord and give an account for the life He entrusted to us. Therefore, we cannot live carelessly. Third, God will reward us (2 Timothy 4:7–8). On the day we stand before the Lord, we will realize that every moment lived for Him was not in vain. Seeing the Lord rejoice over us may itself be the greatest reward. Apostle Paul declared that he had finished the race (verse 7). This does not simply mean success or achievement; rather, it means that despite hardships, he did not give up but faithfully remained where God had called him and completed his task. Are we being imprisoned not by circumstances or other people, but by ourselves? By the help from the Holy Spirit, we should walk out of that prison and continue fulfilling the calling He has given us. The time remaining in our lives is a precious gift from God. To know death is to truly live. May you make death as your teacher and discover God’s calling in the place where you are already standing, so that you may enjoy the abundant life. Discussion Questions 1. Where are you currently pouring your life and energy into? 2. Share your thoughts about death. From your encounters with God or from today’s passage about Paul’s view of death, is there anything new you learned, or anything you feel you still lack? Application Reflect on the calling God has given you in the places where you are already standing—your home, workplace, church, and other areas of life. During the remaining time God has given you, make one commitment at a time and put it into practice.
(True abundance begins with victory over oneself) 나눔 질문: 1.
For Life Abundant (3) I Discipline My Body Like an Athlete (1 Corinthians 9:24-27) 2026-05-18보기
For Life Abundant (3) I Discipline My Body Like an Athlete 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 To live a life of abundance in Christ, we need to reflect on the question: “How well do I know myself?” The reason is that we ourselves may be the very thing blocking that abundant life. Within us, the person the Holy Spirit desires us to be and the person shaped by our instincts and long-standing habits create spiritual conflict. Paul confesses, “The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions.” (Galatians 5:17). Paul also says that in order to live an abundant life, we must “throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception.” (Ephesians 4:22-24). Because this spiritual battle is difficult, Paul himself admits that although he wants to do good, he struggles with the evil within him, crying out, “Oh, what a miserable person I am!” (Romans 7:18-23). Why must we fight this battle? Although external circumstances may create difficulties, the responsibility for whether we rise above them or not lies within us. The early Christians rose above even in the face of persecution from the Roman Empire. Paul also says that although the gospel brings freedom, “I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should” (1 Corinthians 9:27) so that he would not lose the essence of the gospel and could live a life of abundance. Then how should we face this struggle? By observing our emotions and actions in response to the situation, and refusing to spiral downward, we choose to rise above it. “True abundance begins with victory over oneself.” Discussion Questions: 1. Am I fighting against the evil and the old self within me? Have I been blaming external circumstances or other people lately? Have I ever first looked within myself? 2. Is there an “old habit” that I repeatedly fall into? Am I aware of it, or am I simply reacting automatically? 3. If I began observing my reactions more carefully, what kind of changes might happen in my life? Application: This week, pause for one second whenever strong emotions arise. Before reacting to someone or acting out of habit, stop briefly and ask yourself: “Am I responding as my old self right now, or as my new self?”
For Life Abundant (2) Spiritual Life (John 3:1-15) 2026-05-11보기
For Life Abundant (2) Spiritual Life John 3:1-15 The Lord desires for us not only to have eternal life, but also to receive every spiritual blessing in heaven and enjoy the abundant life that comes from them (Ephesians 1:3). However, many Christians do not fully experience this abundant life. Therefore, we must first understand what a spiritual life is and honestly ask ourselves whether we are truly living in it. This spiritual abundance does not come from the world, but from God (Colossians 3:1-2). In John 3:1-2, Nicodemus was an influential religious leader who was highly knowledgeable in the Law. Yet because he had not been spiritually born again, he could not fully understand the words of Jesus, who is the Truth. In the same way, many Christians today are active and diligent in religious activities, but because they lack spiritual understanding and sensitivity, they experience spiritual dryness rather than spiritual abundance. This spiritual abundance begins with being born again. Through the work of the Holy Spirit, our dead spirit is made alive, our relationship with God is restored, and through that restoration we come to enjoy every spiritual blessing and abundance. On the other hand, even though some people have become God’s children by being born again, they still do not experience spiritual abundance because they have not yet truly tasted the abundant blessing given by God. A spiritually abundant life does not come from satisfying visible, physical desires, but comes from the places of worship, the Word, and prayer, the things that are unseen. Because of our sinful nature, it is difficult and challenging to go into those places of devotion. Nevertheless, we must seek that life and continue to approach God in those ways. If we fail to experience this abundant life, it affects not only individuals but also the spiritual community. The spiritual life may feel difficult and demanding, but once we experience its true richness, we discover a joy incomparable to any pleasure the world can offer. Those who are born again have a hunger for heavenly nourishment. To satisfy this longing and to experience this abundant life, there is no other way but worship, God’s Word, and prayer. Christians who are born again do not live according to what is visible. The Holy Spirit helps them understand unseen spiritual realities and enables them to enjoy abundant life through the joy given in faith and hope. Because spiritual life is invisible, it may feel vague or difficult to understand. Yet the Bible promises that the day will surely come when the things we now know only partially will be fully revealed at the end of our journey of faith (1 Corinthians 13:12). Therefore, even when it feels difficult, we must take interest in spiritual things and move toward the place where we can experience this abundant life through worship, the Word, and prayer. The moments in our repetitive daily lives when we begin to question the purpose and meaning of life are often when the Holy Spirit is awakening and inviting us. We should respond to those spiritual moments. There is no other way. As we go to the place of worship, God’s Word, and prayer, we gradually experience spiritual abundance. And as we continue to seek Him there, we experience the help and guidance of the Holy Spirit. 1. Seek Spiritual Abundance Discussion Questions 1. Share an experience in which you enjoyed spiritual abundance through worship, God’s Word, or prayer. 2. Have you ever heard about someone else’s spiritual experience and felt it was abstract, unrealistic, difficult to understand, boastful, or spiritually prideful? Reflect on your own spiritual condition in that response (such as being born again, spiritual dryness, externally focused faith, jealousy, etc.), and discuss what practices may be necessary to experience spiritual abundance. Application 1. To experience the living Word of God and to enjoy an intimate life with Him, set apart a regular time and place each day for reading the Word and prayer. 2. Even if you are always diligent about worship, church ministry or duties, honestly examine whether your focus has become centred on visible positions, tasks, or outward achievements that build your own righteousness, or whether you are truly seeking God’s Kingdom and righteousness through God’s love and justice that save one more soul. Pray that through the Word and prayer, the Holy Spirit’s heart and the will of Jesus may be restored in your life so that you may fully enjoy the blessings of heaven.
For Life Abundant (1) God the Creator (Genesis 1:1) 2026-05-04보기
May 3, 2026 For Life Abundant (1) God the Creator Genesis 1:1 Jesus came to give us life and to help us enjoy an abundant life. Yet in reality, many believers live a dry spiritual life without that abundance. The reason is that they avoid the issues they must face in their faith and remain in a superficial, unchanged belief. So, what is it that we must face? The most fundamental question is: “Is God truly my Creator?” Our faith changes depending on whether we genuinely believe and accept this truth. The Bible proclaims that God created the world through His word. This is an absolute power – creating something out of nothing – that no being can imitate. We are created beings within that creation, and we have no right to assert ourselves before God. In the midst of Job’s suffering, God did not explain the reasons but instead declared that He is the Creator. This shows that because God is sovereign, we must trust Him. The reason we complain is due to a sense of entitlement. The desire to live according to our own will places ourselves at the center and makes us our own masters. Now we must acknowledge God as Creator and accept His sovereignty. First, we have no right to demand anything from God. Even when what we want is not fulfilled, abundance begins when we can say, “Nevertheless, I will follow the Lord” without complaint. Second, we must recognize that everything we have is entirely a gift from God. God freely gave humanity the blessing to rule over and enjoy the world. The incident of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil began not from lack, but from disobedience to a single restriction. Our efforts matter, but without God’s sustaining providence over nature and circumstances, they are meaningless. God protects us in unseen ways, yet we often think as if He owes us something. Third, an abundant life ultimately depends on our choice. The Bible shows that while God continues to create, humans repeatedly destroy. Nevertheless, God does not give up and restores again. In Deuteronomy, God presents two paths: obedience and disobedience. It is a choice between following the Creator or following ourselves. This obedience often requires a turning point, which is frequently failure and frustration in life. When we submit to God in those moments, we come to understand His sovereignty and providence. God never regrets calling us, and it is within that calling that we experience true abundance. Discussion Questions: 1. How much do I truly acknowledge in my daily life that “God is my Creator”? What thoughts or sense of entitlement do I place before God? 2. What have I taken for granted in my life that I now realize is actually a gift from God? How might this realization change my attitude or expressions of gratitude? 3. If you have recently experienced failure or frustration, what choice did you make in that situation (obedience vs. your own will)? What might God be teaching you through that experience? Application Questions: 1. How can I shift my thinking in situations of complaint, difficulty, or irritation in order to acknowledge God’s sovereignty? (Let’s practice thinking one more time: “What would God do?” rather than relying on my own standards.) 2. Practice asking yourself in moments of important decisions: “Is this choice for my comfort, or is it closer to God’s will?” When small acts of obedience (words, attitudes, honesty) accumulate, the direction of life changes.

Holy Resistance (8) He Will Dwell With Them (Revelation 21:1-4) 2026-04-28보기
Holy Resistance (8) He Will Dwell With Them Revelation 21:1–4 After the thousand-year kingdom passes, and God completely destroys evil through the final battle and judgment, the perfect Kingdom of God (eternal heaven) will begin. The completed Kingdom of God is described as “a new heaven and a new earth.” This does not mean that God destroys His original creation entirely, but rather removes all evil elements and restores it completely. It is also described as the “New Jerusalem,” representing the church and God’s people. Just as Adam and Eve were placed at the center of creation, God will place His church and His people at the center of the new heaven and new earth. When the day comes where God’s Kingdom is fully completed, certain things will disappear. Tears of suffering (Revelation 21:4) and all evil things (Revelation 21:8) will be gone. There will also be no temple (Revelation 21:10), and Revelation chapters 21–22 do not specifically mention worship services. However, scholars who study Revelation describe these chapters as chapters of worship. The reason can be found in Leviticus. Leviticus contains the word of laws regarding sacrifices, festivals, and ethics. God gave these laws because of human limitations. First, the Israelites who came out of Egypt had spatial limitations. For God’s presence to dwell among them, there had to be a holy place. Since not every place could be kept holy, God established the Tabernacle so worship could occur in a designated sacred place (Leviticus 1:1–3). Second, there were time limitations. God gave festival laws so that people could focus on Him during appointed times beyond their daily routines (Leviticus 23:1–2). Third, there were spiritual limitations. Since not all people could maintain a spiritually pure state to go to God, God established the tribe of Levi to maintain spiritual purity so others could come to God through them (Leviticus 10:8–11). This was God’s consideration for His people. When we worship with our full focus on God, we experience God’s peace and His grace. Yet at other times, like the Israelites, we feel limitations in worship due to place, time, or spiritual condition. When God’s completed Kingdom comes, all these limitations will disappear, and eternal worship will begin (Revelation 21:3). Worship will not disappear; rather, every moment of our existence will become worship. On that day, a worship that never ends will begin for us. Until the second coming of Jesus, though we are weak, we must resist unseen evil forces through prayer, praise, and worship. The day will come when our prayers, praise, and worship will be proven meaningful. The day will come when our God the Father’s dwelling in us will never end. “He who testifies to these things says, ‘Yes, I am coming soon.’ Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.” (Revelation 22:20) Sharing Questions 1. Do you have personal limitations that make it difficult to fully focus during worship? (Ex. place, time, work, family, relationships, health, spiritual condition, etc.) 2. Are there anything you are resisting or struggling against these days that are making you tired or discouraged? If so, share how you are fighting, resisting, and overcoming them. Application Though the Lord may still feel distant right now, that day will surely come. Think about the day when the Lord will embrace you and be with you in every moment. As you face unseen spiritual battles, declare: “I will resist until the end.”
Holy Resistance (7) Hallelujah! (Revelation 19:1-10) 2026-04-20보기
April 19, 2026 Holy Resistance (7) “Hallelujah!” Revelation 19:1-10 The beginning of today’s passage, Revelation 19, is connected to the prophecy of the seven bowls that began in Revelation 16. In chapter 16, after the seven angels each pour out their bowls in order, those who received the mark of the beast and worshiped its image are first judged and destroyed. However, the judgment grows progressively stronger and more widespread, until it ultimately reaches Satan and the beast themselves. When the final angel pours out his bowl, the great city Babylon receives the cup filled with the fierce wrath of God. Babylon symbolizes the prostitute and represents the world ruled by Satan. Revelation clearly shows that the culture, influence, and everything under that rule will eventually collapse and be judged. Although Revelation is a vision of the end times that God showed to John, it contains not only visions but also “voices.” As the vision of the seven bowls unfolds, these voices become clearer and louder. The content of these voices appears in Revelation 18. The first voice is a strong declaration crying out, “Fallen! Fallen!” This means that the destruction of Babylon has been confirmed (Rev. 18:1-3). The second voice says, “Come out of her, my people, so that you will not share in her sins.” This is a command not to belong to Babylon, not to compromise, but to clearly leave that place (v. 4). What is my Babylon? If there are thoughts, emotions, habits, or environments that cause me to stumble, whatever they may be, I hope you hear the voice telling you to come out of them and escape, so that you will not be judged along with Babylon. The third voice is the sound of those who followed Babylon weeping and mourning as they witness its destruction. When what they depended on collapses, they respond with deep loss. And as these sounds grow louder, there is suddenly a sound that stops: the noise of the wicked prospering, the sounds of their pleasure, oppression, and mockery are heard no more. This is because Babylon has completely fallen (vv. 20-23). In this silence, a new sound begins again – the “Hallelujah” of Revelation 19, today’s passage. The first Hallelujah is a song praising that salvation, glory, and power belong to God. The second Hallelujah praises God for judging and destroying Babylon. The third Hallelujah is a joyful proclamation announcing the wedding feast between the bride, the Church, and the bridegroom, the Lord. Shout out your hallelujah! This “Hallelujah” is not just a simple shout – it is a decision not to compromise with Babylon and a declaration that we will not submit to its influence. At the same time, it is an expression of confidence in our eternal union with God and in the coming feast with Him. This week, as you proclaim “Hallelujah,” I encourage you to fight and overcome the “Babylon” in your life – those fears, worries, and anxieties that try to control you. Break free from the habits shaped by Babylon and from a life that bows down to it, and overcome by declaring “Hallelujah.” Reflection Questions: 1. The “Babylon” described in the passage is not just a place, but a way of life and a set of values. What is “my Babylon” – something I rely on or am influenced by more than God in my life right now? 2. Babylon will ultimately fall, but what belongs to God will remain. Am I investing more in what will collapse, or am I focusing on what is eternal? 3. “Hallelujah” is not just praise – it is a declaration of faith. Am I confessing “Hallelujah,” trusting God in every situation? What area of my life do I need to proclaim in faith right now? Application Questions: 1. Am I moving closer to Babylon, or drawing nearer to God? 2. What is one practical step I can take this week to change that direction?
Holy Resistance (6) And They Were Singing (Revelation 15:1-4) 2026-04-13보기
Holy Resistance (6) And They Were Singing Revelation 15:1–4 In Revelation 12, a woman appears who symbolizes God’s people—the Church. The child she gives birth to represents Jesus Christ, the Messiah, and the large red dragon symbolizes Satan. The dragon tries to devour the child but fails. Even amid the dragon’s threats, God protects the child (Jesus Christ) and continues His work of redemption. At that time, in heaven, Michael and his angels fight against the dragon. They defeat the dragon, and Satan is cast down to the earth. This symbolizes the victory accomplished through Christ’s atoning death on the cross and His resurrection. Having been defeated, Satan goes after and persecutes the Church—the people of God. Satan’s counterfeit trinity (the dragon, the beast from the sea, and the beast from the earth) opposes God, forces people into idolatry, and exerts economic and social control through the mark of the beast. This reveals the true nature of the powers of this world that stand against God. Yet even in the midst of tribulation, God shows through a vision, the people of God who remain faithful with endurance and purity. These are the redeemed people who stand with the Lamb (Jesus Christ) on Mount Zion, worshiping the Lord with a new song of victory. The two visions of harvest that follow represent the harvest of salvation for the righteous and the harvest of judgment for the wicked. Just as grapes are crushed in a winepress, the image of evil being completely trampled in the winepress of judgment reveals God’s perfect and righteous judgment. Before the final seven bowl judgments begin, the redeemed people of God who belong to the Lamb stand before a glass sea mixed with fire and sing the song of Moses and the song of the Lamb, praising their victory. If the song of Moses celebrates God’s deliverance after the judgment at the Red Sea, the song of the Lamb is a song of victory sung before the final judgment, with confidence in the already-secured victory. This song is not merely an expression of personal emotion or desire, like the songs of the world. It is a proclamation by God’s people announcing the coming of final judgment and declaring the beginning of the promised victory—a glorious prelude. Through this vision, we are called not to submit to the fear, threats, and tribulations symbolized by the mark of the beast, but to resist in faith to the very end, living as God’s children with holiness and faithfulness. There is power in praise. That power comes from the truth contained in the lyrics of praise. When the power of that truth works within us, we remember the victory already given to us in Christ and allows us to stand up in faith. When we stand in faith, the evil forces surrounding us will lose their power and retreat. When facing suffering and trials, resist in faith and praise with hope, and may you experience the victory prepared at the end of the journey. With Praise Comes Victory! Sharing Questions 1. What fear or inner struggles make you feel overwhelmed, like standing before the Red Sea? (Ex. Health, financial difficulties, relationship conflicts, emotional struggles, lack of something, etc.) 2. What hope are you holding onto? Is it based on circumstances or your own confidence, or is it based on God’s promises? 3. Share with your cell group if there is a praise song or word of God that you have held onto in faith during times of hardships. Application 1. Turn away from the thoughts and perspectives that focus only on yourself, and move into the place of the Word, prayer, and praise and hold firmly to God’s faithful and eternal promises. 2. Proclaim victory through praise, a privilege given only to the redeemed, and keep your faith through obedience and perseverance. May your entire life become a testimony of Jesus, a beautiful prelude that reveals the Kingdom of God, which has already begun and will one day be fully completed.
(For us, Christ’s resurrection is the power to rise again in any situation.)
Holy Resistance (5) They Stood on Their Feet (Revelation 11:1-12) 2026-04-06보기
April 5, 2026 Easter Sunday Sermon Note Holy Resistance (5) They Stood on Their Feet Revelation 11:1-12 Revelation chapter 8 begins with the scene of the trumpet judgments. With the sounding of the trumpets by the first through the fourth angels, disasters strike in which one-third of the earth, the sea, the rivers, and the sun, moon, and stars are destroyed. In chapter 9, the fifth trumpet judgment describes the plague of locusts, and the sixth trumpet judgment commands four angels to kill one-third of humanity. Yet God still leaves two-thirds of the people alive. This is a warning born of the earnest love of a merciful God, who patiently waits for people to turn from their sins, repent, and return to Him. In chapter 11, the two witnesses who had been proclaiming the gospel for 1,260 days are killed by the beast that comes up from the Abyss, and their bodies lie in the place called Sodom and Egypt – where also their Lord was crucified. The people of the world gaze at their deaths for three and a half days and rejoice over them. But at this very point, God’s great reversal occurs. After three and a half days, the breath of life from God enters them, and they stand on their feet (11:11). God raises them up again and takes them up to heaven. Here we find the answer to the question: where does the strength of a Christian come from? It is the faith in the resurrection. Though we are weak and without power or ability, the essence of resurrection faith is this: even in the place of death, by the breath of God we rise again, overcoming every opposition and standing up once more. For us, Christ’s resurrection is the power to rise again in any situation. Reflection Question: In moments of despair when I could not possibly stand up on my own strength, have I experienced a concrete “evidence of resurrection” in my life – where God’s breath entered into me and enabled me to rise again? Application: Whenever discouraging situations come, I will confess with my lips: “I am weak, but if God breathes life into me, I can rise again.” I will not remain in a broken state of heart, but will take “resurrection actions” by standing up again on my feet.

Holy Resistance (4) Silence in Heaven (Revelation 8:1-5) 2026-03-30보기
Holy Resistance (4) Silence in Heaven Revelation 8:1-5 God showed a vision to apostle John, who was imprisoned on the island of Patmos. The vision begins with God seated on His heavenly throne, receiving unceasing worship. In His right hand is a sealed scroll, and the only One worthy to open it is Jesus Christ, the Lamb who was slain. As He breaks each of the seven seals, the events leading toward the fulfillment of God’s plan for the end times are revealed one by one. In today’s passage, it describes what happens when the seventh seal is opened. After the seventh seal is opened, there is silence in heaven (v1). Then, the prayers of all God’s people are lifted up to God mixed in incense (v3). This silence and stillness show that God is fully attentive to the prayers of His people. When we pray, the reason we experience silence and peace is because God is listening to our prayers. Our prayers do not disappear into the air; they are lifted up to God (v4). The passage says when the angel takes the censer, fills it with fire from the altar, and throws it to the earth, there are peals of thunder, rumblings, lightning, and an earthquake (v5). Though our prayers may seem like weak cries, they are gathered and lifted to God. He uses them as instruments of judgment and holiness in places of evil that need His intervention. God adds His holy fire and pours it into the areas of our lives that must be shaken, broken, or burned away. God is using our prayers to accomplish His work. At the beginning of the seventh seal, we see heavenly worship, and when the seventh trumpet begins, we see the prayers of God’s people. This shows that God uses the prayers of His people as a transition in His work to continue into the next stage. God works through our prayers. When Hannah prayed, her barren womb was opened. When Elijah prayed, rain came again during the drought. When King Hezekiah prayed, his life was extended. When Paul and Silas prayed, the prison doors were opened. Throughout the Bible, we see again and again what happens when people pray. And the vision we saw today in the passage shows that our prayers are truly being lifted up to God. When we feel that there is nothing we can do, there is still one thing we can do: We can pray! Even if we feel weak and small, fight over small things, and have a limited perspective, the One who called us is the greatest of all. Therefore, the place where we stand is never small. Now is the time to pray. Prayer is a power that no ruler can take away. Do you feel powerless? It is because you are not praying. Do not judge yourself as small and insignificant by the standards of the world. Instead, remember how great the One is whom you serve, and be restored as someone who is truly big in Him. Do not forget that Jesus is the One who answers beyond what we ask and accomplishes more than we imagine. Resist through prayer. Sharing Questions 1. What does your current prayer life look like? 2. Have you ever prayed in a situation where there seemed to be no way, no method, and nothing you could do? Through that prayer, did you experience any change or restoration? Application If there are specific prayer requests you have been praying about lately, or prayer topics you would like to share with your cell group, share with one another and pray together.
Holy Resistance (3) After This I Looked (Revelation 7:1-17) 2026-03-23보기
March 22, 2026 Holy Resistance (3) After This I Looked Revelation 7:1-17 When people talk about the Book of Revelation, many are curious about what the visions mean and how they connect to the world today. Questions like, “Which nation does this refer to?” or “Who is being described here?” naturally come up. However, instead of focusing on those aspects, we are intentionally centering more on the scenes of worship. The reason is that when we try to match each vision one by one to current events, it becomes easy for interpretation to lean toward our own thoughts and standards rather than God’s word. The core of Revelation is not the complicated interpretation of visions, but the worship offered before God. This message is like climbing a mountain. Though the path is difficult, along the way there are lookout points where we see beautiful scenery and begin to anticipate how much more amazing the summit will be. In the same way, Revelation leads us to look toward the completion of God’s kingdom – the place of glory. At that summit, there is a scene where a countless multitude from every nation, tribe, people, and language stands before God and the Lamb, praising with a loud voice. This is the final picture we are moving toward. But before that glorious day comes, certain things happen first. In Revelation chapter 6, John sees God’s throne and a scroll in His right hand sealed with seven seals. No one can open it except Jesus Christ, the Lamb who was slain. As Jesus opens each seal, four horses appear. The first, a white horse, symbolizes conquest and humanity’s endless greed. The second, a red horse, represents war and conflict. The third, a black horse, signifies famine and economic hardship. The fourth, a pale horse, symbolizes death. These four are not just specific events but realities that continue to repeat in the world we live in. As long as we live on this earth, conquest, conflict, economic struggles, and death will not cease. And as the end times draw nearer, these things will intensify. When the fifth seal is opened, we see those who were killed for keeping their faith crying out to God: “Lord, when will you avenge our injustice?” But God responds, “Not yet. Wait a little longer.” This shows that there is God’s appointed time. With the sixth seal, there is a great earthquake, and signs such as the sun and moon changing, showing that God’s judgment is near. Ultimately, the day of God that no one can escape will come. But what’s important is that before describing that fearful day, God shows one more scene: His people who have been saved. God seals them on their foreheads and protects them, assuring and guaranteeing them through the Holy Spirit. The Book of Revelation is not meant to instill fear in us. Rather, it gives us hope that in every situation, God is still sovereign over history and will ultimately lead us to that glorious place of worship. Therefore, even amid the chaos and hardships of the world, we should not be shaken. Instead, we must keep looking to God, resisting, and faithfully living out the “now” that has been given to us. The death, despair, greed, and conflict mentioned above will continue until the day we die. But if we endure, resist, and wait just a little longer, the day of the Lord’s coming draws near. And for us, there is what comes after this. Our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. Discussion Questions: 1. When reading the Book of Revelation, what aspects have I usually been most interested in? (visions, interpretation of the times, fear, etc.) 2. How do the four horses (greed, war, famine, death) feel connected to our lives or the world today? And in my own life, which of the “white horse, red horse, black horse, or pale horse” do I feel most strongly? (e.g., competition, conflict, financial burden, fear of health issues or death, etc.) 3. Lately, do I experience God more as “the One who judges,” or as “the One who calls me to worship”? What is one practical thing I can do to keep my eyes on God in any situation? Application Questions: 1. To make a life of worship part of my daily life, set aside one intentional moment each day to pause and turn my focus to God. (in the morning, before going to bed, or when feeling stressed) 2. When facing news, conflict, or financial pressure, instead of just feeling anxious, remind myself: “This is the kind of world already described in scripture.” (Examples: competition and greed → “This is like the white horse,” conflict and strife → “This is like the red horse.”)
Holy Resistance (2) Lamb, Who Was Slain (Revelation 5:1-14) 2026-03-18보기
Holy Resistance (2) Lamb, Who Was Slain Revelation 5:1–14 Worship is the primary purpose of our existence, where we encounter the Creator God and discover His plan for us. While worshiping on the island of Patmos, Apostle John witnesses heavenly worship and sees a scroll in God’s right hand, sealed with seven seals. This scroll contains God’s universal plan. When no one is found worthy to open it, John begins to weep. Then one of the elders tells him that the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed and is able to open the scroll. However, Jesus who appears in the vision is not a roaring lion, but a Lamb who was slain. This Lamb has seven horns and seven eyes, symbolizing perfect power and wisdom. When this Lamb takes the scroll, the elders in heaven fall down and worship, declaring that He is worthy to receive all authority because He was slain. This is the glory of Trinitarian worship—offering the same praise to the One seated on the throne and to the Lamb, that is, to the Father and the Son. It affirms that because He was slain, He has been given authority over all things. To the eyes of the world, the cross appears as a tragic death. But “to those whom God has called, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God” (1 Corinthians 1:24). This vision gives strength to those who are suffering, and it gives us courage to come before the Lord without shame, even in our failures. Death is only a gateway through which spiritual authority is gained. Therefore, in any situation, we can resist in holiness without giving up and continue to come before Jesus. 1.Not even suffering or death can triumph over us. Sharing Question What is the weakness you are currently resisting by faith? Application Our resistance is the path that draws us closer to Jesus in every situation. Was there a song or a Bible verse that has helped you overcome suffering or weakness in the past? This week, try singing or memorizing that verse again and proclaim it in your daily life. Resistance is not about enduring by our own strength, but about proclaiming and relying on the authority of the Lamb who was slain.
Things are not as they seem 나눔 질문: 1.
Holy Resistance (1) A Throne in Heaven (Revelation 4:1-11) 2026-03-09보기
Holy Resistance (1) A Throne in Heaven Revelation 4:1-11 Revelation chapter 4 records the vision that God showed to the apostle John, who had been exiled on the island of Patmos, for the sake of the early Christians who were suffering under persecution and oppression from the Roman Empire. God opened the door of heaven and lifted John up to see this vision. John describes the appearance of God seated on the throne as radiant and beautiful like precious jewels. The thunder and lightning resounding from the throne reveal that God alone is the one worthy of reverence. The seven lamps before the throne symbolize the perfect holiness and power of the Holy Spirit, and the sea of glass like crystal shows that even the chaos of the world and the turmoil of evil are stilled before God’s holy presence. John also sees a vision of the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures surrounding the Lord’s throne, praising and worshiping God without rest day and night. This vision is both a foreshadowing of the eternal worship that God’s redeemed people and all creation will offer in the new heaven and new earth, where all evil will disappear, and a revelation of the reality of the worship that is even now taking place in heaven. While on the island of Patmos in the midst of suffering, the apostle John was filled with the Spirit on the Lord’s Day (the day of worship) and received God’s revelation through this vision. Through this vision, God showed the believers of the early church that the reality they experienced before their eyes and the rulers of this world were not the ultimate authority. The true King is God who sits on the heavenly throne. He is the one who rules over all things and who, according to His good and sovereign plan, carries out and will ultimately complete the work of salvation. Worship is the place of holy resistance where we refuse to bow before the powers of darkness that press down on us and where we continue to fight until the end. In this world where we experience our weakness and helplessness, God gives strength to stand up boldly and endure suffering to those who rely on Him alone. That place is worship. When God opens the door of heaven and reveals Himself, our worship joins with the worship of heaven, and our eyes and hearts are lifted up. As you look to the Lord seated on the throne, do not bow before the forces that seek to tear you down; instead, resist them in the place of worship. Even if the powers of this world threaten our lives, they can never take away our faith in Christ Jesus or God’s promise of salvation. As we praise and worship the Lord who is worthy to receive great glory and honor, may we believe that in the presence and holiness of the Lord, the darkness and powers that oppress us will depart. 1. Things are not as they seem. Discussion Questions: 1. What real-life situations or emotions weigh you down and make you feel weak, preventing you from fully trusting in the Lord? 2. In difficult circumstances, have you ever experienced God opening your eyes to see His providence and sovereignty, or received comfort and strength through worship? If so, share about it. Application: 1. Through worship, hold firmly to the Lord’s Word that He reveals as He opens the door of heaven, and may you gain victory through holy resistance. 2. Through the Book of Revelation, meditate deeply on God who sits on the heavenly throne. May the peace like the sea of glass – calming every sea of chaos – flow from the throne, and may you receive strength and comfort under the shadow of God. “Under the shadow of God, I lay everything down And quietly meditate on the Lord. His amazing grace, His endless love, Flows like a river, flowing and flowing, Bringing freedom to my soul. He makes me new. God’s love, that love sets me free. God’s love, that love restores me.” (Lyrics translated from the Korean worship song ‘하나님의 그늘아래’)

Back to the Beginning (8) Mission (Matthew 28:16-20) 2026-03-02보기
March 1, 2026 Back to the Beginning (8) Mission Matthew 28:16–20 The topic of mission is important for every Christian. Whether someone personally goes to the mission field or not, we all need one another. Through today’s message, I hope our understanding of mission will be newly clarified within us. Mission begins with “The Great Commission” found in Matthew 28. Some say the key word in this passage is “Go,” while others say the central message is “Make disciples.” So, what is the essence of mission? Although this passage clearly contains a command, is mission carried out simply because it is a command? Of course, there is a command involved, but that is not the whole or the only reason for mission. The disciples of the early church did not engage in mission out of obligation. They proclaimed the gospel out of overwhelming joy and deep gratitude. Why? That reason is the true heart of mission. What does the word “the end” in Matthew 28:20 mean? The Jewish view of time was not cyclical, like in Buddhism or some other religions, but linear, with a clear beginning and end. They believed God is the Creator and that He would intervene in history to restore the world filled with sin. The Jews had the concept of “this present age” and “the age to come.” Especially during the 6th century BC, as they experienced life under foreign rule, their hope for God’s intervention grew even stronger. Under Persian, Greek, and Roman domination, when their culture and faith were threatened, they held more tightly to the Law and waited for the fulfillment of God’s promises. At this time Jesus came. The reason why Christians of the early church devoted themselves passionately to evangelism and mission was that, through Jesus, they experienced God’s presence directly and became convinced that the promised time had begun. When Jesus died on the cross, they were briefly discouraged. However, when they encountered the risen Jesus three days later, their certainty was restored. It was the resurrected Jesus who gave them The Great Commission. The early Jewish Christians believed that “the end had begun.” Though there was still time before the final end, their task was clear, to proclaim this good news to the nations. They went out not merely because of a command, but because of their longing and conviction that God’s redemptive plan was moving toward its fulfillment. For some people, the word “end” may not feel real. But what if we truly embraced this perspective? In a world filled with sin, evil, wounds, and suffering, that “end” when all things are restored, will become the fulfillment of the hope we deeply long for. Mission is the cry of those who look toward this end with hope. Because of that hope, we take one step forward in mission. Waiting and longing were the driving forces of mission. This is why the disciples were engaged in mission. When we step into the mission field, we grow closer to God, and that “end” becomes clearer to us. And this longing that we have reshapes our perspective on life. The things we once considered most important are reordered in light of eternity. Jesus is drawing near. The beginning of eternity, when pain, sin, and wounds disappear and we gaze only upon the Lord, that is the “end” we speak of. Mission is a march toward the consummation of God’s redemptive plan. Sharing Questions 1. How have you defined “mission” until now? Have you understood it primarily as a command, or as joy and hope? When you think about mission, does burden come to mind first? Or expectation and hope? Why do you think that is? 2. What is the most important thing in your life right now? Will it still be the most important thing considering the return of Jesus? 3. If you truly believe that “the end is near,” how should that change your daily choices? What is one small step of obedience you need to take? Application Live this week by practicing the small acts of obedience you shared during the sharing time.
Back to the Beginning (7) Evangelism (Romans 1:16-17) 2026-02-23보기
Back to the Beginning (7) Evangelism Romans 1:16-17 Evangelism is sharing the gospel. It is helping people hear the gospel, receive Jesus, be forgiven of their sins, and live as children of God. The gospel begins with the certainty of not being ashamed of it (Romans 1:16). Certainty in the gospel comes from experiencing the power of God, and the gospel is powerful because the righteousness of God is revealed in it (verse 17). God is perfectly righteous and without even the slightest sin, so He reveals His wrath against sin. Since all of us are sinners, we had no choice but to die before His righteousness. Yet because He loves us so greatly, He poured out His wrath on Jesus at the cross, and to those who receive Him, He grants salvation that escapes this wrath. The Apostle Paul explains this salvation in three ways in Romans (chapters 1-4). First, justification: Those who believe in Jesus are declared righteous, not guilty, when they stand before God’s court. Second, redemption: Through Jesus Christ, the price was paid, and we – who were slaves to Satan – are made God’s children the moment we believe in Him. Third, reconciliation: The broken relationship with God caused by sin has been restored through Jesus. Paul does not stop at doctrine or theology alone; throughout Romans, he confesses the power of the gospel that he personally experienced: 1. The problem of sin has been resolved, and our stolen relationship with God has been restored, bringing peace (Romans 5:1). 2. Even in suffering, we can rejoice with confident hope in the gospel (Romans 5:3-5). 3. There is freedom from condemnation. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we are given strength to fight and overcome sin (Romans 8:1-4). 4. Nothing can separate us from the love of God, so the anxiety given by the world disappears (Romans 8:37-39). Are the things we once relied on for strength being shaken (e.g., money, honor, health, success, ability, family)? We must live by the power of the gospel. We need to study, research, and meditate on the gospel. There is God’s power in the gospel. He will allow us to experience understanding, insight, reflection, and testimony. Evangelism flows out of the power of the gospel bursting forth from within us through experience. May the gospel become your firm conviction, and may you live by the power of that gospel. “Evangelism begins with the power of experiencing the gospel.” Discussion Questions: 1. Are there things you have relied on for strength? Are any of them being shaken or taken away (e.g., money, honor, health, success, ability, family, relationships, ministry)? Let’s share whether there is anything we have depended on more than the power of the gospel. 2. If you have experienced overcoming suffering, gaining victory over sin, or having anxiety removed through the power of the gospel, let’s share about it. Application: 1. Today’s message said that we should study, research, and meditate on the gospel. Think of practical ways you can begin right away. I hope you will start with even small steps and experience the power of the gospel. 2. When you need the power of the gospel, read and meditate on Romans 8:37-39: “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
(To read the Bible well is to see it become a lived reality in our lives.)
Back to the Beginning (6) The Word (John 1:14) 2026-02-17보기
February 15, 2026 Back to the Beginning (6) The Word John 1:14 How we meditate on the Word begins with understanding the nature of the Bible itself. The answer can be found in Christology, the truth that Jesus is fully God and fully human. The Word is Jesus (John 1:1), and the Word became flesh and came to this earth (John 1:14). As God, He came in human form to die for our sins (Incarnation), and He understands our weaknesses more deeply than anyone else. At the same time, since the Word is God (John 1:1), Jesus is fully God. Within the Bible, there are both human elements and divine elements. As a human element, the Bible was written in the languages of specific historical periods and cultural contexts. The authors’ personalities and writing styles vary, and it contains different genres such as poetry, letters, and historical narratives. As a divine element, the Bible transcends time and place and is the living Word through which we encounter the Triune God. Therefore, when we read the Bible, we must carefully examine its context and background as we would any other book. At the same time, beyond intellectual study, we must also engage in spiritual meditation, seeking to hear God’s voice speaking to us today. When we respect both elements as we read the Bible, we will finally see His glory (John 1:14). If we read about Immanuel—God with us in the Gospel of Matthew (Matthew 1:23; 18:20; 28:19–20) only as historical accounts experienced by early Christians and the disciples, we are reading only the human aspect. At the same time, we must also meditate on the divine aspect, asking, what is God saying to us today through this Word? The reason we read the Bible is that as we come before God revealed through His word, He meets us personally and transforms our lives. To read the Bible well is to see it become a lived reality in our lives. Sharing Question Have you recently had an experience where, while reading the Bible, you felt, “This is God speaking directly to me now”? How did you feel? Application Questions 1.Consider the background and story of the passage you read. Picture how God revealed Himself to the people at that time: “Who was God to them in that moment?” 2. Try to listen for God’s voice as you read the Bible. From a verse that touched your heart, ask: “What is God saying to me today?” 3. As you live the day walking with God, and especially in difficult moments, ask: “If God is with me right now, how would I respond?”
Our ministry should reflect the life of the Trinitarian God 나눔 질문 : 1.
Back to the Beginning (5) Ministry (John 6:38) 2026-02-09보기
Back to the Beginning (5) Ministry John 6:38 The heart of Christian ministry is relationship, and its starting point lies in recognizing that all human beings are created in the image of God and therefore possess equal value. The Triune God exists as three distinct persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – yet is one God, equal and identical in essence and glory. In the same way, just as the three persons of the Triune God are equal in their being, all believers in Christ, who are created in the image of God, likewise possess equal intrinsic worth. Jesus declared that He is one with God the Father by nature and that He possesses divine equality with God Himself (John 8:58–59; 10:30–31). Yet the Son, Jesus, did not assert His equality with God or claim His own rights, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant and obeying God’s will even unto death (Philippians 2:5–11). In response, God the Father exalted the Son through the resurrection and bestowed on Him the name that is above every name. Furthermore, Jesus promised to ask the Father to send the Holy Spirit to us (John 14:16–17, 25–26; 16:13–14). The Holy Spirit, who is fully God and equal with the Father and the Son, does not draw attention to Himself, but bears witness to Jesus alone and reveals His glory as a helper and advocate. This Trinitarian reality is likewise reflected in Christian community and ministry. The early church, having truly grasped the gospel and belonging to Jesus Christ, proclaimed that all people are one and possess equal value, without discrimination by any standard (Galatians 3:28). Those who are in Christ must abandon worldly perspectives that rank people according to position, age, social status, or possessions. Instead, we are called to honor one another as bearers of God’s image and to treat one another as equals. Christians are to joyfully and willingly take on their respective roles, striving to resemble the Triune God by building one another up and honoring one another. Therefore, ministry should not be centered on results, but on the process of becoming more like the Triune God – learning obedience and humility within relationships. Just as what is beautiful is expressed through poetry and song, may the Christian community, by reflecting the Triune Lord who cooperates in each person’s place, become a beautiful poem and song offered unto the Lord. "Our ministry should reflect the life of the Trinitarian God" Discussion Questions: Have you ever had an experience where you laid down your own rights and, by humbling yourself, genuinely built someone else up for the sake of unity within a community you belong to (such as your family, church, or workplace)? When God places you in a community where you are called to follow someone else’s authority, what causes feelings of resistance or rebellion to arise in your heart? (Is it rooted in a sense of superiority or pride based on the other person’s shortcomings? Is it stubbornness that refuses to submit to anyone? Or is it selfishness that seeks to avoid sacrifice and commitment? Take time to examine your heart honestly.) Application: For the sake of the brothers and sisters you journey with, try practicing small, tangible acts of service by becoming a helper and co-worker like the Holy Spirit. May the community you belong to become a beautiful place of training where we grow to resemble the Triune God. Meditate on Philippians 2:5–11. Holding on to this passage, pray that through the great gift of relationships God has given you, the order established by the Lord and true unity may be accomplished through your life.

Back to the Beginning (4) Serving (John 17:1-5) 2026-02-03보기
February 1, 2026 Back to the Beginning (4) Serving John 17:1–5 As we live our lives as a believer of Christ, there comes a time when we find ourselves standing in a place of serving. The serving spoken of here is not the same as volunteering, which we choose to do selectively in our spare time. Volunteering is something we decide to do when we want to, but Christian serving does not begin with us. It begins with Jesus, who came to this world as a servant. In Mark 10:45, Jesus says he “did not come to be served, but to serve.” Therefore, serving is a calling for those of us who follow Jesus. At the same time, serving is our responsibility to represent and show Jesus to the world. Then how can we show Jesus, who died on the cross, to the world? When we serve others as Jesus did, Jesus is shown to the world through that serving. Serving is also a place of training, where God shapes and matures us. Therefore, serving is not optional but a requirement of our faith. However, serving is never easy, so we easily grow weary or become discouraged. At such times, we must ask this question: “What is at the essence of Christian serving?” The answer is found in the relationship between God the Father and Jesus the Son. Among the Gospels, John focuses most deeply on this relationship. In John 5:19, Jesus says, “The Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing.” Did Jesus say this because He lacked power? Not at all. Jesus chose to follow exactly what the Father was doing. If even Jesus lived this way, how can we expect to do God’s work by our own strength alone? We must let go of the habit of trying to do everything on our own. Furthermore, in John 14:10, Jesus explains that He does not work by Himself, but that the Father who dwells in Him does His work. This goes beyond merely imitating God. With this oneness with God the Father, Jesus offered Himself as a channel for the Father to work through Him. When we reflect deeply on His word, we realize that God’s work is not found in ministry itself, but in our relationship with God. Even while doing God’s work, there is one thing we must never lose: our relationship with God. So, we must ask ourselves. What are we doing to protect and not lose this relationship? How much of our time are we offering to God to remain connected to Him? In John 17:1, the day before Jesus was crucified, Jesus looked up toward heaven in His prayer after completing His earthly ministry. Just as Jesus’ gaze was always fixed on the Father in heaven, we too must look toward the Father when we are in the place of serving. The more tired we become, the more frequently we must call upon and rely on “Father God.” The place of serving demands sacrifice, people’s responses often fall short of our expectations, and sometimes relationships themselves become sources of testing. In such moments, there is a clear way to go through these times of trials. 1. Serve God, for Him and with Him. We simply follow what the Father is doing, nothing more and nothing less. Whether things go well or not should never become our standard. We must shift our perspective, that we are not merely volunteering but rather, the God who loves us has entrusted us with a place of serving. Therefore, when we face trials, instead of leaving or enduring reluctantly, we must return to the essence and hold firmly to what truly matters, serving with the Father. Do not understand God the Father merely as someone who “exists,” but understand Him as the One who is “present” with us here. Let His presence become a living reality in your life. Ask the Holy Spirit to dwell in your life at every moment. True serving is done for the Father and with the Father. Sharing Questions 1. Are you currently standing in a place of volunteering or serving? (Reflect on whether your serving is something you chose selectively, or something you are carrying out as a calling to follow Jesus. When serving becomes difficult, do you simply endure it, or do you return to its essence? Share based on your recent experiences.) 2. To what extent can serving for God and with God influence your life? (Please guide the discussion so that the members can recognize that serving in church, roles at work, and responsibilities within the family are all forms of serving that must be carried out together with God.) Application Question As you reflect on the song and the lyric “I live for you alone,” (post sermon song, “I Give You My Heart”) practice remembering your relationship with God in every moment of life, especially in moments that require sacrifice and serving.
Back to the Beginning (3) Fellowship (1 Corinthians 3:1-4) 2026-01-26보기
Back to the Beginning (3) Fellowship 1 Corinthians 3:1-4 Because we were created as beings who need and long for fellowship (Genesis 2:18), we cannot help but live in relationships. In order to cultivate beautiful Christian fellowship, let us examine several key principles. As human beings, we possess both a God-given divine nature (Genesis 1:26) and, at the same time, a desperate sin nature as sinners (Genesis 3:6). Even redeemed Christians can live according to the image of God, yet they can also live according to sinful desires. What truly matters is which of these possibilities becomes reality through me and through our community. The Apostle Paul describes these two realities as those who belong to the Spirit and those who belong to the flesh. Those who belong to the Spirit think, speak, and act according to the heart given by the Holy Spirit, while those who belong to the flesh live according to the old self of their former sinful nature. Restoration must take place within our fellowship. At what point does testimony become self-glorification? When does honest conversation become destructive speech? When does sharing struggles turn into complaining, or sharing wounds turn into gossip and criticism? Recognizing and discerning that moment – that boundary – is important. 1. When signs of sin surface in your fellowship, recognize them. The Apostle Paul also describes sinfulness and spiritual maturity as the difference between children and adults, between those who drink milk and those who eat solid food (1 Corinthians 3:1). Our fellowship needs spiritually mature adults. Spiritual maturity is not proportional to physical age. We must examine whether our fellowship is that of adults or that of children. We must be weaned from milk and continue to grow. 2. When driven by what arises from sin fellowship can’t flourish. Within our fellowship, we must sow not to the flesh but to the Spirit (Galatians 6:7-8). Beginning with ourselves, we should examine what is repeatedly shared in our conversations. Is it of the flesh, or is it of the Spirit? We must strive to build beautiful fellowship by bearing one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:4-5). 3. When sin seeks to govern our fellowship, we must guard it. Within our community, there must be a culture of courtesy, consideration, and respect. When an apology is needed, we should offer it willingly, and when gratitude is needed, we should express it abundantly, so that we may build beautiful Christian fellowship together. Discussion Questions: 1. In my relationships, do I show courtesy, consideration, and respect toward others? Am I someone who expresses gratitude and offers apologies well? Let us share the areas where we are doing well and the areas where we need to grow. 2. Based on today’s message, let us reflect and share what I personally need to work on, and what practical steps our community can take together to build beautiful, spiritual fellowship. Application: 1. If there is someone in your relationships to whom you need to express an apology or gratitude, do not hesitate – take the step and express it.
Back to the Beginning (2) Worship (Exodus 3:13-14) 2026-01-19보기
Back to the Beginning (2) Worship Exodus 3:13–14 The essence of worship is about God and for God. Then how should we worship? The word worship (worth-ship) can be defined as “to accord worth, true value, to something, to recognize and respect it for the true worth it has” (N. T. Wright). Worship starts from the knowledge of God, and when we understand who He is and recognize His worth, worship becomes a natural response. If we do not know God well, our view of God may be limited in different circumstances, and our worship will likewise be limited. Therefore, to give true worship, our understanding of God must grow, and we must gain knowledge of His attributes. God’s attributes are divided into communicable attributes (those shared by humanity—love, mercy, faithfulness, and justice) and incommunicable attributes (those unique to God—sovereignty, eternity, omniscience, omnipresence, omnipotence, and immutability). Communicable attributes are easier to understand, but incommunicable attributes can be difficult to grasp. However, when these attributes are planted in our hearts, God’s influence increasingly shapes our lives. We come to know God more deeply and are led according to His will. Through this, we learn that there are times when we must surrender, recognizing that something was simply our own desire, or accepting it when God does not answer. We learn to wait on God rather than running ahead, and even entrust our suffering to His sovereignty, ultimately witnessing the fulfillment of God’s purposes in our lives. God also declares, “I AM WHO I AM” (Exodus 3:14). He is not influenced by anything, needs nothing, and lacks nothing. He is a fully independent being, known as aseity. God is not affected by our human wickedness (Job 35:7–8), “He does whatever pleases him” (Psalm 115:3), and He is The One who gives to all, needing nothing in return (Acts 17:24–25). 1. God-centered worship flows from a true knowledge of God Sharing Questions 1. Do you believe and trust that God is self-existent and all-powerful? 2. Have you ever experienced God working beyond your limitations? 3. If you view your current concern through the lens of God’s sovereignty, how might it look different? Application 1. Write down your worries and anxieties on the left side of a page. On the right side, write down God’s attributes that transcend each situation. Share together how your worries and fears become smaller as you acknowledge God’s sovereignty.
(Prayer is an encounter with the Triune God through the Holy Spirit who dwells within us, the redeemed.)
Back to the Beginning (1) Prayer (Galatians 4:6) 2026-01-12보기
Back to the Beginning (1) Prayer Galatians 4:6 In all things, the basics are important. In the life of a Christian as well, the fundamentals of faith matter deeply. Many Christians know the importance of the basics, yet one foundational practice that is often not consistently kept is prayer. So, what is prayer? Prayer is communication and a meeting between us and God – the omniscient, omnipotent, holy, and one-and-only Creator. Since God is Spirit (John 4:24), true prayer requires certain conditions to be met: status, place, and language. However, because humans cannot fulfill these conditions on their own, complete fellowship with God is possible only when the Holy Spirit helps and fulfills all these requirements for us. God is the Trinity – three distinct persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit – equal in essence and existing as one perfect God. This Triune God accomplished the work of our salvation. God the Father planned salvation, and God the Son, Jesus Christ, came to this earth in the flesh to carry out that plan by bearing the work of the cross. Jesus died on the cross for all people so that whoever believes in Him may receive salvation, and the Holy Spirit applies that salvation to each individual, so that we who believe are saved. Originally, because of sin and transgressions, our spirits were dead and we were unable to come before God. But the Holy Spirit makes our dead spirits alive again – this is being born again, that is, regeneration. Through this, the Holy Spirit enables us to receive Jesus, become children of God, and restores our status so that we may boldly come before God and call Him “Abba, Father” (Galatians 4:6). In addition, the Holy Spirit dwells within us who believe, and makes our hearts God’s temple, thereby fulfilling the condition of place, allowing us to come before God in prayer anytime and anywhere. Therefore, God does not merely dwell in church buildings; rather, He is present by indwelling saved and born-again believers. Because the Lord’s presence is among the believers in this way, the community of believers who gather together becomes the true church (1 Corinthians 3:16). Since the Holy Spirit knows everything of God, He also fulfills the condition for communication between God and humanity. Because the Holy Spirit, who knows all that belongs to the Father, dwells within us, we are able to enjoy true fellowship with the Lord through prayer (1 Corinthians 2:10–13). Prayer is a spiritual act in which we meet the Triune God through the Holy Spirit, who dwells within us who are saved. Prayer is the place where we come before God, guided by the Holy Spirit within us, so that we may approach the Father without fear or hesitation. Therefore, prayer should not be about any visible phenomenon, but should have as its purpose an intimate encounter with God. Since the Triune God is three persons yet one God equal in essence, we who believe that the Holy Spirit dwells within us also believe that Jesus dwells within us. And so, the intimate relationship that God the Father has with His Son Jesus is poured out in the same way upon us – who have become sons in Jesus – through the Holy Spirit. 1. Prayer is an encounter with the Triune God through the Holy Spirit who dwells within us, the redeemed. Discussion Questions 1. How are you practising prayer, which is a foundational discipline of the Christian life? If we truly believe in the real presence of the Holy Spirit dwelling within us, how might that change the way we pray? 2. If you have experienced a time when the Holy Spirit reshaped your prayers and desires (what you asked for) to align with God’s heart and will (abiding in Him), please share. Application Throughout this coming week, take time to pray with a desire to follow the leading of the 'Holy Spirit', trusting Him who works powerfully within us and is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or imagine.
Vision Sunday "How Wide and Long and High and Deep" (Ephesians 3:14-19) 2026-01-05보기
January 4, 2026 How Wide and Long and High and Deep Ephesians 3:14–19 The very core, foundation, and entirety of the Christian faith is to know and understand the love of our Lord Jesus Christ. In today’s passage, Ephesians 3:18, apostle Paul earnestly prays that the believers in Ephesus would come to deeply know the immeasurable width, length, height, and depth of Christ’s love. At first glance, knowing Jesus’ love may seem like a very basic aspect of faith, and this prayer may not appear especially remarkable. However, every form of training requires a strong foundation, and every master first builds solid fundamentals before adding deeper knowledge and skill. In the same way, spiritual training in our faith requires a firm grounding in the basics above all else. First, the spiritual direction we must take is “going back” to the beginning. We are called to go back to the moment when we first encountered Jesus, and to be faithful again to the fundamentals. At that place, we must humbly examine our faith and our foundation. This is not a step backward; rather, it means “going deeper.” There is a difference between knowing Christ’s love and truly understanding it. To understand means to fully grasp the width, length, height, and depth of that love and to be filled with it. If we do not truly comprehend this love, we will not be able to genuinely experience it, nor we won’t be able to enjoy its fullness. When we reflect on the stages of faith, we often begin by knowing God and experiencing life transformation. Then, through discipleship, learning, and active serving, our faith grows. However, at some point, we inevitably encounter a spiritual wall. Many churches encourage further learning at this stage, and we search for new knowledge. If we feel unfulfilled within the church, we may even look outside of it, hoping our faith will somehow continue to grow. But if we cannot break through that wall, we end up circling the same place over and over again. Breaking through the wall requires honestly facing our inner selves and entering into the deepest places of our heart. We must go beyond the knowledge of doctrine into a deeper understanding of what true prayer, worship, and the word of God really are. When we do so, as promised in verse 19, God will fill our lives completely with His fullness and lead us to “go higher.” As we return to the beginning, remain in the deep place, wrestle, struggle, and persevere there as we are going through the wall, we come to know God’s love. Furthermore, we get to experience true fullness, and taste the joy of truly knowing Him. How is this possible? First, we must have a sincere desire in our heart. When the Holy Spirit fills us with holy longing, this becomes possible. Sharing Questions 1. Have you ever encountered a “spiritual wall” in your faith journey? If so, how did you respond at that time? 2. What do you think is the difference between knowing Christ’s love and understanding it in your heart? Which side do you feel your faith is closer to currently, and what specific effort can you make this coming week to experience His love that is “wide and long and high and deep?” Application Choose one foundational practice in your faith (e.g. daily Bible reading, a consistent prayer life, or attending worship service), go back to the heart you had when you first met Jesus and practice it faithfully.
(See the Church through the Word of God.) (Make sure to guard the unity of believers)
(Spirituality is deepening of our relationship with God)
